Finally Vacation time's here and your at the airport, standing in line, all while trying to maneuver two suitcases to many. Wondering why in the world you went and borrowed your suitcases from a friend, just because they were a little bigger then yours. And of course you still filled them over weight, so you threw some of that heavy stuff into your carry on. I mean you know your sister would kill you, if you arrived minus those oreo cookies she was craving.
And right like that adding insult to your injury, There goes your pilot and flight attendant walking past with a speed any power walker would be proud of, pulling their little carry ons behind them. You stand their watching with an impolite stare, dropped jaw and all, just checking to see if your pilot looks like he can fly an airplane.

Isn't that right like life? We always carry all this extra "baggage" around, I mean why wouldn't your truck's battery, and left-hand blinker, not go out at the same time? And of course you gotta swing in and grab an energy drink on the way home from the garage. Oh and lets not forget that your antivirus is about to expire on your computer.

Materialism, thats one word that says so much about life in America. And for the past year I've found myself fighting it, willing myself not to become a part of it. And let me tell you thats hard, very hard for me.Yeah I still have that key-chain collection I started when I was seven.
I just read Randy Alcorn's book The Treasure Principle, and figured out that I've been doing it all wrong, not that saving is bad, but it ends up leaving me feel hopeless and a little angry about my money problems. He had a statement that made me decide to redefine a word ... giving
Giving - The Antidote to Materialism

This is something I'm going to try and live out in some practical ways, and no I'm not going to give you a loan!
